EST Alumni assemble

Looking for your cooperation!

The Educational Science and Technology programme at the University of Twente has established a Double Degree programme with the Master of Learning Sciences at Ludwig Maximilians University (LMU) in Munich. Building on this international partnership we are now joining forces in the development of a new online course on Transferable Skills, initiated and led by LMU. For this development LMU project leader, Sara Laybourn is looking for professionals in various domains related to educational sciences, to gather information about potential career options for students. Such professionals could work in professions/institutions such as

  • Researcher in the private sector (not financed through (state) funds; possibly with an emphasis on learning)
  • Organizational Learning (small company)
  • Human Resources
  • Data Analytics
  • Early childhood research in the Netherlands
  • NGO for education based in the Netherlands
  • Ministry of Education in the Netherlands
  • Educational policy in the Netherlands
  • Adolescent and adult research in the Netherlands
  • School Psychologist and/or Counsellor
  • Instructional designer

Next to the German context, Sara Laybourn is now aiming to conduct interviews with Dutch professionals in these domains and will be asking questions about what the job is actually like “in the real world”, such as:

- How would you describe a “career path” toward your profession/institution?

- What are the key features of a “job” within your company/institution?

- What does a typical working day look like?

- In what way does learning play a role in jobs in your company/institution?

- What qualifications are needed to follow this career path?

- Which hard skills and which soft skills are required?

- Is there a possibility for our students to do an internship at your institution?

Would you as an EST alumnus be willing to share your experiences in an interview? Or do you know anyone in your network that would? Then please contact sara.laybourn@psy.lmu.de

Many thanks!
